I began chiropractic care because I was having chronic, severe neck pain, muscle spasms, and an intense burning sensation of my scalp. These problems began in November 2003 following a blunt force trauma to the head. The pain was constant and intense. All aspects of my life were impacted. The pain and pain medications nearly always left me exhausted. Muscle spasms made swallowing difficult and I frequently choked. I often felt hopeless. Three neurologists advised me to absolutely NOT try chiropractic care. Unfortunately, I followed their advice far too long. My past treatments included physical, Reiki, and massage therapies. Additionally, every 3 months I drove to Shand’s hospital in Gainesville where my neck muscles were injected with Botox to quiet the spasms. I would receive as many as 16 injections at one visit! These treatments were not successful. I began chiropractic care October 2006. My progress with chiropractic care has been miraculous! My pain level dropped from greater than 10 to a 2, and the burning has ceased. I have my life back! Before chiropractic, my energy level was so poor, social activities were more than I could endure. My energy level is now wonderful and I can entertain guests again. I sleep better now that the pain has lessened. AND, I am free of 4 of the 5 medications I took before!
